So it’s been years since I bought anything worth mentioning from a drug store. I’ll be the first to say it and openly admit that I’m a MAC girl through and through. I’ve been hooked ever since my first Satellite Dreams eyeshadow and haven’t looked back. I don’t have children and am happily married with next to no bills, so I spend a good deal of our hard-earned $$ on MAC. Thanks to my Pro card I personally find it more beneficial to buy something a little more higher quality.
That being said, I know that not everyone can, does or wants to. I am very accepting and respectful of that. Heck when I first delved into makeup at the ripe ol’ age of 14 it was Cover Girl’s Clean Pressed Powder in 110, Classic Ivory and Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara in Black. I was a happy kid! I wore the crap out of compact after compact. Even today when I smell that classic Cover Girl fragrance I’m transported back to middle school! I hadn’t even heard of MAC or Estee Lauder. So my dear readers I think it’s time I returned to the drug store for more than just a nail polish and my prescription pick up.
I want to be able to answer as many of your questions as possible and to do so, I am to become one with Maybelline, Cover Girl and Revlon again. I’m actually looking quite forward to something old that has become new! To be completely honest with you, I didn’t start wearing liquid foundation until about 2 years ago and started with MAC. I also never wore cream, gel or liquid eyeliner before 2012!! So I know there are some things to try in these areas and I can’t wait to give it a go. I won’t be giving up on my high end and MAC. Expect those reviews and product suggestions as well.
Yesterday I spent about $60 on a little bit of everything drugstore branded to give a whirl. 10 products later I’m ready to dive into a weekend of test driving some new products.
Most of these products I picked up I picked up to my own accord. Not because I read about the anywhere, just by my lonesome self standing in the middle of a cosmetics section reading labels and touching testers (eww… sanitizer was my best friend) and feeling the makeup for myself. (**NOTE: The Revlon nail polish in Heavenly is the only thing I picked up based on someone else. It’s a great dupe for Deborah Lippmann’s Stairway to Heaven)
This is going to be a fun weekend!
Check back soon for an update.
