Product Review: Ahava Active Deadsea Minerals

Hello readers!

I have a product review for you today!

About the end of January I was contacted by a lovely lady from to see if I would like to receive a couple of products to review. They were a foot cream and a hand cream both made by the same company, Ahava. I had never heard of them before so I thought “Sure! Why not?” Those of you who know me, know that I’m a product junkie. I quite obviously said yes.

So over the past month I’ve been using the hand cream faithfully and the foot cream occasionally on my legs, ankles and feet. Read on to heard what I think.

AHAVA Active Deadsea Minerals: Hand Cream

“A mineral-enriched cream specially formulated to protect hands and safeguard them from harsh climates and household damage. Instantly smoothes chapped dry skin and restores suppleness.” –

My thoughts:

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this product! I thought I had tried the best of the best when it came to hand creams and was content in my little bubble of bliss. I never really had a favorite hand cream and can honestly say this has quickly risen to the top of my list.

When it comes to hand creams I believe it should go on, sink in, not leave a greasy residue, keep my hands feeling moisturized and smell great. This product definitely hit all those marks!

Now I say that it hits all those marks, but I do have to say it is a little weak in the smell category. I find it a little too florally, but still nice.

The best perks for this hand cream is that there isn’t any greasy residue which for me is the biggest key to a good hand cream. It goes on, it sinks in, retains the moisture it’s supposed to and doesn’t feel gross afterwards.

The hubby had very cracked dry hands and had been dunking his hands in our Paraffin Wax Pot all winter long. When I got this hand cream I got him to start using it too. It healed his cracked dry hands beautifully!

I’m very very impressed with this hand cream!!

Some other interesting notes:

  • -Approved for sensitive skin
  • -Paraben free
  • -Allergy tested
  • -Against Animal testing

Another great note is that this line has Witch Hazel in it. I love Witch Hazel. My Aunt loves homeopathic remedies and I’ve learned a lot from her about Witch Hazel and it’s healing properties. Hubby and I could definitely see the healing properties from the Witch Hazel take effect in both our dry skin cases. His being more server and mine being minimal to moderate.

Info on Witch Hazel:

This powerful antioxidant ingredient is used to smooth skin, help minimize pores and rebalance skin. Used for many medicinal purposes, Witch Hazel is used in both face and body products to provide a refreshing and revitalizing effect.

Ahava Deadsea Minerals Foot Cream

My thoughts:

Again, this foot cream is everything the hand cream is. Again, not greasy (though be careful to ensure you are wearing booties, socks or sandals when applying a foot cream. Even though it’s not greasy it will still be slippery and could cause a slip!), moisturizer stays locked in with the deadsea minerals and water and the only complaint I have is the scent where it is a bit strong and almost too floral.

I find the foot cream a little stronger in scent than the hand cream.

I am currently combating a fungal infection (yup. happens to most in my family on my Dad’s side every few years) and found this product did help a bit with the tea tree oil in it, but I could’t be sure if it was the tea tree oil from this product or the fact I place pure tea tree oil directly to the infection. (I’m going with option 2, but am certain option 1 helped).

I have to say I highly recommend trying out this line of products.

A big tip too, ships free within Canada!! And they’ve got allllll the best brands, Zoya, OPI, CND Shellac, Seche Vite and even Butter London.

Check them out.

Until next time readers.
